Peggy Lorene Gouge (Heck)'s Obituary
Peggy Lorene Gouge passed away peacefully on March 14, 2026, at the age of 78, surrounded by those who loved her most.
Peggy is survived by her daughter, Carrie Stevenson, and her son, Kevin Gouge; five grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren, with one more on the way.
Peggy was born on September 9, 1947, in Salina, Kansas, to Opal and Raymond Heck. She was the youngest of five girls and brought joy and spirit to her family from the very beginning.
She was a devoted homemaker—proudly calling herself a “domestic engineer”—and had a creative and entrepreneurial spirit. Peggy was a top Avon seller, a Salt City Candle distributor, and enjoyed making dolls with Apple Whimsy. She had a deep love for crafting, especially crocheting, and created many beautiful blankets, hats, and slippers that will be cherished for years to come.
Peggy also had a passion for tole painting and even taught classes. One of her painted pieces earned first place at the Del Mar Fair (now known as the San Diego County Fair), a reflection of her talent and dedication.
Peggy and her husband shared a love for life and people. Together, they enjoyed traveling, playing games with friends, and hosting gatherings. Bunco and dominoes were among her favorites, and she never passed up a good card game.
A small, intimate family memorial was held at her daughter’s home in Utah. In accordance with her wishes, Peggy was cremated and will be reunited with the love of her life, her husband.
She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Until we meet again.
