Penny Lusher's Obituary
Penny Lusher slipped her earthly shackles to reunite with her beloved Farrell in the Kingdom of Heaven on August 2nd. Penny was born on January 30th, 1944, in Great Falls, Montana to her parents Bud and Marge Stewart. She often recalled fond memories spent growing up in Great Falls, relating stories of family (Gary, Dale, Nancy, Gene) and friends in rural Montana. Penny excelled as a student and matriculated through Catholic schools to attend Carrol College in Helena, Montana where she made lifelong friends. After graduating from Carrol with a degree in Elementary Education, she traveled to Seattle with her sisterhood to begin her pursuits as a teacher. It was not long into her big city adventure with her somewhat silly, small-town crew, when Penny met the love of her life Farrell Lusher. They married and started a family without pause. Penny and Farrell welcomed their first born, Chad, and began their life as a family in a new house in Renton, Washington. Kristen arrived a year later, and then after a few years respite, they decided it was time for their final addition, Colleen. The small family enjoyed great times growing together, enjoying simple pleasures and many a camping trip including annual summer pilgrimages back to Montana. As the kids grew up, Penny worked as an assistant at their Elementary School, and as a Hostess and Bookkeeper at the local McDonald’s. She was quite meticulous and loved working to balance the numbers. As the kids departed the nest, Penny and Farrell expanded their travels and downsized to a cozy spot in Newcsastle, Washington. The family grew as the kids married (Chad – Lara, Kristen – Rich, Colleen – Eric) and six grandchildren (Megan, Logan, Quinlynn, Keegan, Erin, and Memphis) joined the tribe. Penny and Farrell were doting grandparents attending many school events, sports games, and numerous other outings and activities. Holidays were special, and Christmas was always a time to gather at Grandma and Grandpa’s. Penny lost Farrell several years ago but was comforted to have her kids and grandkids remain as her loving and steadfast support. Penny was a kind, gentle soul who was cherished by all she encountered. Always up for any activity, her positivity and fun-loving demeanor made her a joy to be around. Sadness consumes us, but we take solace knowing she is back with dad enjoying a road trip in paradise. Donations can be made in Penny’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association.
