Peter Warren McKellar's Obituary
Peter Warren McKellar
4/25/37 – 7/5/2025
A man with many names – Warren, Son, Dad, Brother, Uncle, Bubba and Bubsy.
Warren was born in Ely NV and was adopted into a loving home by Pete and Hildred McKellar. He grew up on the ranch at the base of Pilot mountain in Wendover and Tooele. He served a 3 year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to Central America in every country but Honduras. On the way to the mission home, he was sealed to them for time and eternity. A forever family. He came home and went to BYU where he met the love of his life, Sharolyn Bagley. They were married in the Salt Lake temple on June 13th, 1962. They just celebrated 63 years of marriage.
They have 3 daughters – Melaney, Jennifer, and Heather.
He and Shari had a family meeting and decided to move everyone to Las Vegas to further his career in design. They stayed for 20 years and he finally came to his senses and moved back to Pleasant Grove, Herriman and Millcreek.
Dad loved his Savior Jesus Christ and served wherever called. He served in 3 bishoprics also in the Oquirrh Mountain and Mount Timpanogos temples, one of his favorite callings was serving in the Primary with his wife. And he somehow always ended up on the decorating committee!
He was a creator of beauty. He was a floral designer with a true eye for color. When he retired from designing, he taught himself to paint at age 83. He loved to share his talent with everyone, a flower arrangement at Christmas, a painting to brighten your day. He was a true disciple of our Savior, Jesus Christ. He loved his family most of all.
He is survived by wife Shari, daughters Melaney, Jennifer, Heather (Jeff) Harmon. His brother John McKellar and 3 grandchildren Rylee Anderson (Brock), Tate and Alex Harmon.
Dad, we love you and will miss you, and we thank you for the example you set for us to follow. You worked so hard for the last 6 months to be able to walk again. We know you are now. 2 – 4- out the door!
We especially want to thank Josh and Alicia from Solstice Hospice for the loving care they gave to our Dad.
