Peter “Papa” Louis Betzing Age 71, passed away March 11, 2026 in the comfort of his home after a long, brave battle with cancer.
Born June 19, 1954 to Peter and Jean Betzing. A loving husband of Nancy for 29 years.
Peter is survived by his wife Nancy, his four children Peter Louis Betzing Jr, Kathryn Taylor (Scott), Karie Betzing and Leah Betzing (Stephen). 11 grandchildren: Autumn, Anthony (Priscilla), Kourtney (Bryan), Mariah (Tyson), Liv (Colton), Ava (Tanner), Haylee, Blake, Julien, Ian and Elyana. 9 grandchildren: Serina, Melody, Charles, Xavier, Xania, Audrey, Aaliyah, Elian, Pierce and a baby girl on the way! Uncle of Amanda, Justin, Daniel, Clyde, Larry, Jimmy, Robert, Tommy, and Linda.
Preceded in death by his parents Peter and Jean. Sisters Pam and Jeanette, Brother Earl
(Phyllis), Niece Judy and 2 grandchildren Chandler and Isaiah.
Papa was known to many as friendly, funny, life of the party, and an incredible storyteller. He told stories from working on the railroad and driving trucks. He had a huge love of traveling, camping, treasure hunting, animals and listening to rock and roll music loud! He was a friend and a source of so much laughter. He was a generous gift giver and one you could always call for direction and help. His birthday phone calls were always remembered and right on time.
Being a grandpa was his greatest joy. Papa will be deeply missed by so many along with the sound of his laughter and silly jokes.
