Presley Val Timothy's Obituary
Presley Val Timothy
1933-2017
Presley Val Timothy passed away suddenly on Friday, May 5, 2017. Although he suffered from Parkinson’s the past 7 years, we thought he would live much longer; but, that was not God’s plan. His family recognizes this was a tender mercy the Lord gave to Dad. He has wanted to join his wife, Lucy, ever since she died on July 20, 2015. They were married Oct 24, 1951 in the SLC Temple.
As children, how can we ever pay enough tribute to a father who saved us, who was the rock and safe place that we needed while growing up, who sacrificed and worked so hard to provide for us? We love you Dad and thank you for all you have done for us!
Val was born July 17, 1933 in Roosevelt Utah, to Presley Timothy and Clara Olsen, and was the 3rd of 9 children: Wayne, Colleen, Kay, Charles, Connie, Lynda, LeAnn and Lyle. He was a hard worker and knew how to fix or build anything. He was very creative and could make things work better, run faster or be more efficient. He drove a truck in his youth, hauling and transporting for his dad’s lumber store. He worked for Boeing and then Hercules, where he worked as a quality control specialist and retired from there after 32 years of work.
Dad was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He served a mission to the Central Atlantic States Mission for 2 years while he was married and had two children and served in many church callings and as a temple worker.
Val and Lucy had seven children who they raised, served and loved well. He was a kind and gentle man. He dearly loved his wife and daughter Valerie who preceded him in death and also his parents, two granddaughters, Jessica and Julie, and brother, Lyle. He is survived by children; Teresa (John), Trina, Presley, Derk (Tami), Melonie (Don) and James, many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at 11:00am at the LDS chapel on 1485 N. 800 W. Orem, UT. The viewing will be held prior at 10am. Graveside services and interment will take place 3:30 pm, Saturday at the Bluebell City Cemetery in Bluebell, UT.
