Randall Simmons Bennett was born on July 31, 1953 to Vance Tree Bennett (Deceased) and Kathryn Simmons Bennett in Ogden, Utah. He was the oldest of four children and is survived by Lisa (Mark) Jones, Melinda Haycock and David (Dawn) Bennett. He attended Clearfield High School before joining the United States Navy, where he served during the final years of the Vietnam War. In the navy, he learned his trade while working with boiler systems on Naval submarines. He was the owner/operator of his own boiler maintenance company where he worked up until his death.
Randy met and married Mary Jeanette Redfield (deceased) in 1972. They were blessed with four children; Ginger Walker, Amber (Alex) Hughes, Eric (deceased), and Jacob. In 1986 Randy met his love, Sharon Williams Lindgren Bennett. They were married on February 23, 2001 in Reno, Nevada with their two oldest grandchildren, Braxton and Lex, as witnesses. They continued to raise their children, his as mentioned above, and Sharon’s; Craig (Stephanie) Lindgren, Bryce (Kallie) Lindgren and Breeyn Payne (Christian Colmenares). Randy and Sharon have 12 grandchildren and four great grandchildren, with one on the way.
Randy had a great love for the outdoors and spent many good times camping and fishing. His favorite spot to enjoy the outdoors was Round Valley, Utah. He also loved his dogs, who could always be seen riding to and from work (and everywhere in-between) with him. His truck was not complete without two miniature schnauzer faces peeking out the windows. He loved his family and the times he spent with them. His presence will be missed in each of their lives.
An open house will be held in Randy’s honor on Saturday, May 13, 2023 from 11am-1pm at Premier Funeral Services (5335 S. 1950 W. St, Roy, UT 84067).
In lieu of flowers, please donate funds for a tree to be planted in his honor. @ginger-walker-6
