Randall E Bennett's Obituary
Randall Earnest Bennett
February 22, 1964 ~ June 14, 2023
Randall was affectionately known as Randy. Our beloved Husband, Father, Brother, and Friend returned to the loving arms of his parents and brother in the early hours of June 14th, 2023.
Randy was born February 22, 1964, in Pocatello, ID to Gary and Carolyn Bennett. He was the third child welcomed to the family. The family moved to Las Vegas soon after where Randy spent his childhood and teenage years. While in Las Vegas he worked in the family business as a dental technician for Strobelt Dental Lab.
Randy moved to Sandy, UT in February of 1983, just in time to witness the historic flooding. He married Mary Brubaker, on September 12, 1987. They welcomed 2 beautiful daughters into their lives, Meghan in 1993 and Ashlee in 1996 whom they raised together until they separated in divorce in 2004.
Randy met Carol Curtis through work associations. They started dating in May of 2004 and joined their families a year later. Over the next 18 years they raised their son and 3 daughters together. They lived in Midvale, Sandy and most recently in central Utah.
Starting at a young age, Randy learned to be a hard worker. He worked in his grandfather’s dental lab, Miller Blue Ribbon, for UPS as a loader, installer at Classic Cabinets, and kitchen designer at Home Depot. He was a driver for Winder Dairy, Sutherland Lumber, Utah Book Binding, Classic Cabinets and Airgas. He passed his strong work ethic on to his children. Randy’s favorite occupation was as a delivery driver as he loved people and his career allowed him to socialize with his customers while still doing his job.
Randy had incredible artistic skills that allowed him to bring just about anything to life in his creations. He also had several other passions in life that included his family, cooking, football, woodworking, and politics (not necessarily in that order). The perfect day for Randy included cooking on his smoker and watching his wife and daughters play board games, contributing as tiebreaker or referee as needed. He was an outdoorsman who loved snow skiing in his younger years and always enjoyed camping and fishing with his family. Randy preferred to spend his relaxation time hanging out with friends and family.
Randy is survived by his wife Carol, son Kyle Schmidt, daughters Meghan (Davyn) Bechtold, Skyli (Anthony) Richards, and Ashlee. Also, his siblings: Rick (Debbie) of American Fork, UT, Russell (Joan) of Sierra Vista, AZ, Mike (Stephanie) of West Jordan, UT, David (Shawnna) of Bountiful, UT and Trent (Lia) of Salt Lake City, Utah. Randy was preceded in death by his parents, Gary and Carolyn; brother, Robert; his niece, Kasi; grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Funeral Services and viewing will be held Saturday June 24, 2023 at the Heritage 5th Ward chapel. The viewing will be open to all friends and relatives from 9:30am to 10:30am with the funeral service at 11:00am. Interment will follow shortly thereafter at Elysian Burial Gardens.
