Raven Nicole Taylor's Obituary
Raven Nicole Taylor
2014 - 2018
Our three year old Raven passed away on Sunday, April 8th at 9:50 pm. She was found lifeless in her bedroom by her parents on Saturday, April 7th at 6:00 pm. Paramedics were able to revive her, and they transported her to Primary Children's Hospital by helicopter. Such a long time without oxygen had severely injured her brain, and so the decision was made to let her go. She held on long enough for us to say our goodbyes. She passed quickly and peacefully in the Hospital, surrounded by an overwhelming support of family and loved ones. She is survived by her parents, Hayden and Makaley Taylor, her paternal grandparents, Clay and Ronalee Taylor, her maternal grandparents, Robert and Tammy Sasaki, her cousin Akari Barney, and her four aunts, Hailey and Kelsey Taylor, and Tasha and Vanessa Sasaki.
Raven had spina bifida and chronic breathing issues. She had a trache, a feeding tube, oxygen, and a ventilator at night. She required 24 hour supervision by someone trained in her care. She endured four surgeries, and countless hours spent in doctor's offices and hospitals. But while her story seems like it would have been one of great sadness, she never saw it that way. Instead, she always found reasons to smile. She worked, fought even harder, and never suffered.
She loved peek-a-boo, hugs, kisses, friends, family, and strangers. She loved spaghetti, pizza, mashed potatoes, and anything with cheese. She hated fruits, vegetables, saying goodbye, and seeing others cry. She loved watching TV, and her favorite movie was Trolls. Her birth involved beating the odds and proving doctors wrong. Her life was filled with joy, fulfillment, and happiness. And her passing came with peace and relief. While her life was only 3 short years, she truly lived each of her moments to the fullest.
