Rawson Jay Hancock's Obituary
Our loving father, brother, son, grandfather and great-grandfather and friend passed away at his home surrounded by his beloved chihuahuas peacefully. He was born in Ogden, Utah where he was adopted by a loving family. His father Western Rawson and Ruth Simpson Hancock. Jay graduated from Bonneville High School, then enlisted in the Marines. Once home he worked 46 years for Union Pacific Railroad as an engineer. He married twice and later divorced finding his soulmate, Judy Sanders Hancock where they spent 30 wonderful years until her passing in 2020.
He is survived by his sister Lorraine Godfrey, his sons Lance Hancock, Shawn Hancock, Kevin Hancock. His daughters Lisa Hancock Messerly, Brooke Hancock/Zakara Royale, Holly Hancock, Melissa Griffith, Sheree Kittelson. He is also Grandpa "grumpy boy" to 8 grandsons and 8 granddaughters, 10 great-grandsons and five great granddaughters and two unknown gender great grandbabies not yet born. Private graveside service will be held, but that is to be announced at a later date.
Condolences may be sent to Premier Funeral Services. Flowers welcome day of funeral. Jay Hancock will always be our Locomotive, so many journeys that led to so many trials yet he triumphed. He is loved by so many and we are glad now he sees just how much for he is gone for a moment in our vision, yet he will never leave our side until we all become one just because we can't see him does not mean he isn't here Amen. Rest in Peace
