I loved Mr. Madson. I was in 5th grade at Lake Shore and Mr. Madson was awesome. I took band from him in 6th grade at the Vernal Middle School and wondered how he had so much patience in all that noise. Great teacher 😊

To my sweet cousin Iris and your family, I am so sorry to hear about Raydon. We are in Yuma, AZ for the winter and I just got on the Herald tonight and saw this. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Love you all, DeNene and Robert.

Dear Iris and Family,
Our love and prayers are with you as you celebrate the life of your wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. You are all some of our very favorite people. He was our Bishop and a very dear friend -- lots of special memories of his love and care over our ward. We wish we could be with you at this time, but since it's not possible, we hope you will all know that we love you and pray for your peace and comfort.

Our condolences to the Madson family, especially Iris. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Mr. Madson was my band teacher throughout elementary and Jr. High at Goshen Elementary. I have fond memories of him and his sense of humor. Anyone who teaches music to young kids needs a very good sense of humor! He was a very patient teacher. I remember when he used to drive his one passenger car to school. It was very ultra-modern. He was also our visiting teacher when I attended BYU in the early 70's. He was a very nice man. RIP Mr. Madson Judy Cook Wightman
Raydon was my first band and orchestra teacher in middle school. He also taught me clarinet lessons when I first started out. I have such wonderful memories of him and his great gentle influence on me. He not only taught music, but he taught life lessons as we went.
I spent time at his home during those years. It was evident that his family had a great love for one another. I am sure this is due to the parent influence of Raydon and his wonderful wife.
May the abundant wonderful memories of him sustain you through your loss at this time. We have all lost a great presence in our lives. He was and is a great man!

I loved Brother Madson so much, and I always felt his genuine love and care for my family. I don't know how many scriptures he knew by heart, but he could always quote just the one he needed in his testimonies or responses in Sunday school. His testimony of the gospel was as strong as any I've ever heard. We'll miss you, Bro. Madson!
