Raymond Donald Johnson's Obituary
Raymond Donald Johnson 83 & Margie (Guymon) Johnson 81, passed away peacefully in their home within a month of each other. Marge passed away on January 22nd and Ray passed away on February 16th of 2018.
They are survived by their four children and spouses (Blair & Julie, Dirk & Lois, Tiffany & Richard, and Ryan & Melissa). They leave an additional legacy of 17 grandchildren and 17 greatgrandchildren.
Ray was born in Salt Lake City, UT son of Ben & Dorothy Johnson. He loved cars, motorcycles, and the outdoors. He served in the military shortly after being married. He was known and beloved by many in the community and was the local handy-man to friends and family.
Marge was born in Fountain Green, UT daughter of Newell and Melba Guymon. Her family moved to Salt Lake early in her life where she eventually met and fell in love with Ray. She had a loving nature towards everyone. She loved skiing, golf and the Utah Jazz. She also had a huge crush on Karl Malone. She was able to live her goal as a full-time mother.
Ray and Marge married on September 17, 1955 and were inseparable for the next 62 years. Unable to have children of their own, they adopted their four children from the US and Korea. Their favorite family vacation spot was Manila, UT/Flaming Gorge, where they had property and would take their kids fishing and boating during the summers. They loved spoiling their grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Per their request, there will be no funeral services. The majority of their ashes be scattered at locations they have selected and a small amount will be interred at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
