Raymond Russell Marshall's Obituary
Raymond Russell Marshall returned home to our Heavenly Father on December 06, 2023, at the age of 73 years old due to injuries he had sustained. He was a resident at the George E. Wahlen Veteran’s Home when he had passed. He was born on May 06, 1950, in Portola, California. To Bernice & William Marshall. He was the 2nd child of 7. From an early age he had a love for Christmas. In 1962 at the age of 12 years old he would go to downtown Ogden, Utah and help endlessly to set up Christmas Village. Raymond was such a kind man and hard worker that he made a lasting impression on everybody that had met him even at that young of an age. He attend Weber Basin Job Corps in Ogden, Utah. Shortly after he joined the Army in December 1970. He was stationed in Germany. When he was sent to war in Vietnam. While in Vietnam he had a pet monkey named Sam. He was a Pole lineman. While serving in the war he was injured and was Honorable discharged in April 1971. He had received a purple heart for his bravery and service. He truly cherished that he had the chance to fight for his county. He loved to camp, fish, and act like one of the kids with his many nieces and nephews that he loved so much as they love him dearly. Raymond was notorious for his contagious smile, laugh, and his hippy determiner. Raymond is survived by his siblings: Louise Fox (Ogden, UT), Andy (Deann) Marshall (North Ogden, UT), Alice Sergura (Layton, UT), John( Joy) Marshall(Brigham City, Utah), Tammy (Sam) Cutler(Ogden, UT). Along with his many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Raymond also is survived by his Brother in arms and his right hand man Robert Law (Bobby). He is proceeded in death and welcomed home with loving arms by his parents Bernice & William Marshall, His sister Shirley Hall, and his niece Ashley Marshall.
Viewing and Funeral service will be on Thursday December 14, 2023. Viewing will be from 10:00am -10:45 am. Funeral service will be at 11:00 am along with Graveside at 12:00. All the services are going to be held at Veterans Cemetery & Memorial Park located at 17111 1700 West Bluffdale, Utah 84065.
