Raymond "Ray" Vern Wyllie's Obituary
Raymond “Ray” Vern Wyllie 1953~2024 Taylorsville, UT- Ray Passed away peacefully in his home, surrounded by his loving family, on May 24th 2024 after a long-fought battle with cancer. He was the son of Vern Wyllie and Shirley Wyllie. He was the Husband of Nancy Wyllie and Father of three Children.
Ray worked for many years at the railroad and loved his time there. He made many lifelong friends and thoroughly enjoyed working there. After getting injured on the job, he found himself in early retirement. He enjoyed his daily coffee meet ups with friends. He was not one to sit home, and later continued to work in various jobs. Spending some time fabricating in his garage and then eventually landing him at Pacifica Assisted Living where he was known as Mr. Pacifica. Ray was the transportation specialist. He had a passion for caring for the residents, entertaining them, and built many friendships that turned into family during his time there. The residents and his team sure adored Ray.
In his early years, Ray loved to play baseball, play guitar, hunt and fish with his son Matt, golf with his friends, and loved to play bingo and gamble with his wife Nancy.
He is survived by his loving wife Nancy, His Daughter Michelle (Kevin), Son Matt (Danielle), 9 Grandchildren, and 3 Great grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, May 31st, 2024 from 6:30pm – 9:00pm. LDS Ward – 8385 S 4800 W West Jordan UT 84088.
