Renee Maxine Diamond's Obituary
On the morning of April 22, 2022, Renee Maxine Diamond, our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend passed on to her eternal home. She was 78 years old. Renee was born on May 5, 1943, in Idaho Fall, Idaho. She was the third child of her loving parents, Irvin Carl Caudle and Sylvia Violet Andrews.
As a child, Renee spent many happy summers up in Island Park in Idaho. Her grandparents built and maintained Andrews Cottages at Mack’s Inn. There were 19 cabins and Renee’s family worked with her grandparents to maintain the business for many years. Renee attended school in Idaho Falls during the school year. During her teenage years, Renee’s family moved to Blackfoot, ID. Before building their home, they rented an apartment above the skating rink. Renee met her future husband at the skating rink. She married Carl Jennings Broadhead on September 16, 1959, in Blackfoot, Idaho. Six children were born to this union.
At the beginning of their marriage, Carl and Renee operated a small farm in Rose, Idaho. Their 3 daughters, Peggy, Kathy, and Julie were born while they were on the farm. They moved their little family to California. They lived in Long Beach, Buena Park, and then Sacramento, California. Renee worked as a key punch operator for the State of California. While they were in Sacramento Carl began working as a concessionaire. After learning the business from his employer, he bid on and was awarded the contract for the concessions at the Orange Show Fair Grounds in San Bernardino, California. They owned and operated this business for 13 years. They employed many family members and friends over the years. They were very generous and helped many families in need. During their time in San Bernardino, their 3 sons, Daniel, David, and Michael were born. All the children helped with the family business and the children learned their work ethics from the example set by their parents.
Renee later went to worked for Avon Cosmetics. She excelled in sales and marketing and quickly became a District Manager. She moved to Apple Valley, California and managed one of the fastest growing districts in the United States. Due to her hard work and dedication, she achieved President’s Club many times. She also owned a couple of network marketing business, worked for Pacific Management Services, and ended her career working at Santa Anita. She loved her time at Santa Anita and she even had an ownership share of a racehorse named Milltown Road.
Renee was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She held several callings throughout her life. Working in the Primary organization was her favorite.
Renee’s greatest joy was her family. She loved visiting her parents and grandparents. She loved family gatherings and spending quality time with her children and grandchildren. She happily shared her home, her heart, and her love with them. She spent countless hours playing and attending sporting events, school events, music lessons, etc. She always supported her children and grandchildren and celebrated their accomplishments. She loved celebrating the holidays and always made them special. She was a wonderful mother and loved and encouraged her children through all their ups and downs. She was an excellent homemaker and cook and her Swedish pancakes and cinnamon rolls were a big part of family gatherings. Her other interests included baking, canning, camping, fishing, gardening, movies, music, reading, genealogy, traveling, going out to restaurants, going to the beach, and going shopping. She was always happy when she found a great bargain.
During her later years, she suffered with declining health. When she could no longer care for herself, she lived with her daughter Julie and then moved to Utah and lived her last few years with her daughter Kathy and her granddaughter Kristine and her family. As her health and mental status declined, she was loved and supported by her family until she was called home. Those who have gone before her will be welcoming her with open arms. Her heart must be overflowing to be surrounded by those she loved. She will be remembered by all who knew her as happy, fun, loving, forgiving, strong, determined, and generous to all. We find comfort in knowing she is free from the health issues she suffered.
Renee is survived by her six children, 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, her sister, and nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband. 2 brothers, 1 great grandson, and 3 son-in-laws.
