Rex M Sanders' Obituary
Rex M Sanders, 76 of Idaho Falls, Idaho passed away on May 26,2024 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was under the care of hospice while residing at Midtown Manor.
Rex was born on March 26, 1948 in Rigby, Idaho to Joseph Ford Sanders and Avis Sargent Sanders . He grew up in Hamer, Idaho. He graduated from West Jefferson High School in Terreton, Idaho and then attended college at BYU in Utah. He served in the Army from June 1970 to August 1971, returning home to help his ailing father.
Rex married Grayce Traynor in 1974. They were later divorced. Rex never had children but thought of Grayce’s sons Brian and Neal as his own.
Rex lived and worked for several years in California as a manager in the restaurant business. He returned back to Idaho, where he was employed in the cellular industry as a salesman. He also ran the Hunters Haven Bar in Mud Lake, Idaho.
After retirement, Rex resided in the Idaho Falls area where his sister Gayle looked after him until she herself needed cared for. He then spent two years at the Veterans Home in Pocatello before going to Salt Lake City in February 2024.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Richard Sanders; and sisters, Gayle Johnson and Edith Wheeler.
A graveside service will be held on June 29, 2024 at Fielding Memorial in Idaho Falls.
