Rhonda Carol Higgins' Obituary
Rhonda Carol Higgins, aged 72, passed away on March 11, 2025. She was a beloved mother, daughter, and friend. Born on July 18, 1952, in San Diego to Ronald and Pauline Meservey.
Rhonda grew up near the beach in Manhattan Beach, CA, after spending several years traveling due to her father's military service. One of her favorite memories was the time spent in Japan as a small child. Rhonda graduated from Aviation High School in 1970 in Redondo Beach. Soon after, she married and had five wonderful children.
After starting a family, Rhonda decided to go back to school to become a registered nurse. She worked as a nurse for over 30 years, with a passion for hospice care, helping countless patients and families.
Rhonda’s absolute favorite place on earth was Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks in California. She took her family on many vacations to the park, creating numerous cherished memories. Rhonda was also incredibly talented in crafts, with a true love for ceramics. She could spend hours pouring, firing, and baking ceramics, making gifts for family and friends.
Rhonda was an animal lover, with a special fondness for cats. It was always her dream to own a property where she could take in any animal that needed a home. Over the years, she owned many animals, but her favorite cat was an orange tabby named Bailey.
She is survived by her five children: Greg (Amy), Erika, Karianne, Katie, Kristy (Patrick); her mother Polly; her cousin Cheri; her aunt Charlene; and grandchildren: Madisyn, Kenzy, Andrew, Searra, Raquel, Noah, Kyleigh, and Lucas. She is preceded in death by her father Ronald, cousin Donna, Auntie Bea and many other aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The family thanks Rocky Mountain Care in Clearfield, Utah, for their wonderful care given to Rhonda in the last year of her life.
A memorial service will be arranged at a later time.
