Ricardo "Rick" Montoya's Obituary
Ricardo “Rick” Montoya passed away peacefully on January 31, 2024 at the age of 71, surrounded by his daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren in Tooele, Utah. His battle with serious medical issues in recent years showed his courage in facing life challenges with a smile. Despite the pain, Rick came out a hero and stayed strong until the end.
Rick was born November 29, 1952 in Idaho. After High School he went into the Navy. He served in the Navy for 4 years. He then went to work for the post office for 21 years.
As a child, Rick proclaimed that his goal was to love everyone no matter who they were.This dream was fulfilled when he was older. He had many that he had taken in as his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved all his grandchildren and family in general. He had a very big passion for fishing. You would always find him with a pole in his hand and down by a lake.
Rick met the love of his life, Vivian Jones, while they were children though they didn’t know it yet. They Grew up together and later got married. Together they had Patches. His only child. He then took on Dug and BJay as his own as well when he married Vivian. They later Separated.
Rick is survived by his daughter Patches (Robert) Williams, Dug (Lynette) Nagel. BJay Nagel. His brother Michael Montoya and Sister Connie Ringwood. He has a total of 14 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Rick is proceeded in death by his Mother Irene Clegg Montoya. His father Joe Montoya. Brothers: Joe, Frank, Gilbert, and Val Montoya. Sister Lola Ottley.
To Honor Rick we will be doing a celebration of life at a later date which will be announced by his Daughter.
