Richard Ashworth's Obituary
Richard (Dick) Ashworth passed away on the morning of January 3, 2023. He was born in Milford, Utah on February 20, 1945, to Gerald White Ashworth and Helen Audrey Lewis.
Dick spent his childhood days in Cedar City, Midvale, Vernal and Kearns, Utah, with his summers spent with his grandparents in Beaver, Utah. Dick's family moved to Orem, Utah while he was in High School and he graduated from Orem High School.
After High School Dick joined the army corp of engineers. When he was done with his service he married Verna M.Tucker and had two children, KayeLyn Ashworth and Douglass G. Ashworth. He and Verna eventually divorced.
Dick ran a service station in the Kaysville area before going to work at Hill Air Force Base as a machinist until his retirement.
Dick loved golf and the car races. He followed the racing circuit with his friends for many years. He was an excellent mechanic and loved fast cars.
After retirement he worked on restoring his grandmother's 1953 Plymouth, learned to sew upholstery and fabricate roll cages for RAZORS.
Although a fall a few years ago did slow him down.
He is survived by his father, Gerald Ashworth, Brother, James (Cheryl) Ashworth, Sister, Connie(Lynn) Williams, Children, KayeLyn Ashworth and Douglass (Brianna) Ashworth.
Grand-Children - Randy P. Ashworth (Caila), Timothy J. Ashworth, Zachary V. Ashworth(Ashtyn), Preston D. Ashworth (Katie).
Great-Grand-Children - Timber L. Ashworth, Bentley M. Ashworth, Kycen V. Ashworth, Tukson S. Ashworth,
many nieces, nephews, and wonderful friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Ashworth, Brother-in-law, Mark I. Payne, all of his grand-parents and his ex-wife Verna.
Services will be held Saturday, January 14, 2023 at 10:00 am in the L.D.S. chapel located at
965 W. 2000 N. Orem, Utah
