Richard Wayne Cahoon Richard (Buster) was born October 16, 1941 to James Wayne Cahoon and Betty Richards in St. George, UT. As a toddler, his family moved to Salt Lake City where he was educated, graduating from East High School. Read Obituary
Richard was one of my favorite Sunday School teachers! He even took us ice skating and fell on his elbow, chipping his bone a little. He was always so kind and cheerful. I got to interact with him professionally as well when I interned with DCFS and later worked as a therapist. Always really enjoyed talking to him!
Dear Elder Cahoon;
Sorry, old habits die hard! I mean, wasn't it just the other day, you and Elder Shumway were knocking on the door of 22 Alma Street, in Worcester, England. It was August, 1962. Your bright shiny faces; and nice white American teeth! I thought it strange you both had the same first name, Elder. No name tags in those days!
You both taught me the Gospel; and 10 days after our first meeting we were on our way to Kidderminster in that dark blue Bedford van to be baptized.
You forgot to tell me to bring a towel, and I could invite family and friends, but that's ok.
You opened a door to Eternal Life with our Heavenly Father.
Eventually I made my way to the USA. Married in the Salt Lake Temple; had 8 wonderful children. Some served missions to Japan and Mexico.
I now have 15 grandchildren. It's been a wonderful journey with a few heartaches along the way. But what a beautiful ride!
I've been blessed to stay in touch with you and Craig Shumway all these years; for which I am very grateful.
Hopefully, by now, you have learned to pronounce "Malvern" correctly! lol

We met 7-64,@ Harmons down from his work @ Safeway’s. Shortly after we ran into each other @z Forest Dale g c& started golfing for lot of yrs after. Been 7-7 yrs since we’ve golfed. Gail Burrows told me his sis told him, had no knowledge what had happened. Would like to know(801-265-0702). Funeral, viewing ? My condolences on ur bereavement. 🌹
