Richard Gerald Covell's Obituary
Although we loved you dearly, We could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, Hard working hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best. Richard Gerald Covell, age 60, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on January 4, 2024. He was born on April 26, 1963 in Layton, Utah to Sylvia Banz and Paul Covell. He grew up in Syracuse, Utah and later moved to Clearfield. Richard married the love of his life Lorri Havely on October 15, 2001. He had 4 children,5 grandchildren, and 3 fur babies. He held various jobs throughout his life- he enjoyed working for FRAM Honeywell for 29 years as machine maintenance and later on 12 years at Wal-Mart as an associate. Richard loved his family especially going to family get togethers, barbecues, reunions, and spending as much time as he could with his wife and grandchildren. Richard loved camping, hunting, fishing, and being outdoors- a real mountain man. His Mom Sylvia took him on his first duck hunting trip as a teenager, which is when he fell in love with it. He spent many years deer and duck hunting with his son, brothers and friends. Richard had a heck of a green thumb; you could find him in his garden most days. He enjoyed NASCAR, watching football, and canning. He is survived by his wife Lorri, children Erica (Elijah) Havely, Brandon (Mikelle) Havely and grandchildren Winnie, Peyton, Dallas, Myka, and Archie. Also, surviving: his two sisters, Holly (George) Thomas, and Stacy (Brian) Smith, as well as brothers Tracy Covell, Mike (Michaela) Covell, Darren (Jackie) Covell, David (Cherie) Covell, his father Paul Covell, along with his many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by: his mother Sylvia Banz Covell, his sister Carol Covell Gallegos, and his stepmother Ricky Covell. Richard is missed so fiercely, his viewing and funeral services will be held at Premier Mortuary in Roy January 9th, 2024 from 6:00 pm- 8:00 pm. His funeral is being held at the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints January 10th, 2024 at 151 North 1000 West in Clearfield. There will be a viewing at 10:00 am and service starts at 11:00 am, graveside service around 12:30 pm.
