Richard Sidney Miller's Obituary
Our beloved husband, brother, uncle, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and ultimate family man, Richard Sidney Miller, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at the age of 99. Richard was born on April 7, 1926, in Nyack, New York, to Sidney and Hellen Miller. He grew up during the Great Depression and proudly served his country as a World War II veteran, earning his Combat Infantry Badge in the Battle for Central Europe. Richard will be remembered as a good man, a noble man, a strong man, and an honest man. He loved working with his hands and could fix almost anything. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle with his beautiful wife and soul mate of 72 years, Joan Miller, providing for his family, and taking his weekly trips to the grocery store to cook delicious meals for his loved ones.
He had a special love for the outdoors, the mountains, and gardening that he shared and instilled in his children.”
He was a source of strength, dignity, acceptance, brilliance, and gentle kindness to everyone who knew him — especially to Joan. Together, they built a strong foundation and legacy of generosity, unconditional care, and the enduring truth that real love conquers all and truly exists in this world. His life inspires all of us to serve others, to live with virtue, and to put family above all else. Richard is survived by his loving wife Joan Miller, his daughter Donna, his son Randal, nine grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Richard S. Miller Jr. and grandson, Broc R. Miller.
