Richard Melvin Phillips' Obituary
Richard Melvin Phillips, 76, passed away peacefully Monday, September 16, 2013, after a long battle with cancer. Dick was born at home in Provo, Utah on May 7, 1937 to Melvin and Larue Phillips. Dick was blessed with five children - Pamela, Jamie, Michelle, Allison and Andrea. He was also blessed with numerous grandchildren.
Dick is also survived by his sisters Anita (Leroy) Williams, Linda (Leon) Clark, and brothers Douglas (Rebecca) Phillips, Tim (Jackie) Phillips. Dick is preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Allison.
Dick loved the outdoors especially hunting and fishing. He was a talented artist and loved to paint. He was a great story teller and had a gift for remembering names.
Dick loved the gospel and served faithfully for 3 years in the Provo, Utah Temple. He also served an LDS mission at the Distribution Center in Orem, Utah. He was a High Priest and taught the youth in his ward in Orem.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 am, Friday, September 20, 2013 at the Cherry Hill 2nd Ward Chapel, 1700 South 400 East, Orem, Utah with a viewing at the church one hour prior to services. Interment at the Provo City Cemetery.
