Richard Evans Stucki's Obituary
Richard Evans Stucki (Dick), 64 passed away Tuesday, September 17, 2013. He was born Sept. 11, 1949 to Golden Autumn and Edith Mary Evans Stucki, in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Dick grew up with his loving mother and older brother Tom. At an early age he worked to help his family. In High School he was hired by the Deseret News to take photographs at High School sporting events. He was working for KCPX, Channel 4 TV and Radio News, and studying Journalism at the U of U when he met, fell in love and married Pamela Ruesch in the Salt Lake Temple. He continued his career in photography and journalism, and eventually formed his own publishing company, printing local and specialty newspapers and books.
Dick loved working, learning and gaining knowledge. He was a great speaker and teacher. He loved people and enjoyed sharing his knowledge to help others. He always did his best at whatever he was doing. His hobbies were writing, gardening, Dutch oven cooking, woodworking, woodturning, and many other crafts. He spent many hours making gifts for family and friends.
As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint, Dick loved the Lord and tried to follow his example. He served in various church positions including bishop. Dick went on a mission in England, and with his wife, worked as an ordinance worker in the Salt Lake Temple, served in the Humanitarian Center on Welfare Square, Employment Resource Center and helped promote the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on the internet.
Dick loved and appreciated our good neighbors who helped him and helped us watch over our home. He missed associating with our ward family this past year while he has been so sick.
Dick is preceded in death by his parents and one brother. He is survived by his wife, Pam, and children, Richard Anthony Stucki (Diana), Andrew Herman Stucki (Treena), 5 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, and his brother Thomas Evans Stucki (Tina).
Funeral services will be held at the Haven Ward, 2280 South 300 East on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at noon. A viewing will be held prior at 10:30 am. Interment will be at the Salt Lake City Cemetery, 200 N Street. Flowers may be delivered to Haven Ward at 9:30 am the morning of the funeral.
