Richard James Utley's Obituary
RIchard James Utley passed away peacefully at home on November 17, 2024 alongside family after a long battle with COPD. Richard was born May 19th, 1963 to James B Utley and Karlean Gleeve Utley in Murray Utah. He was the oldest of four. He attended Alta view elementary, Eastmont Jr High and Alta High School. Richard was married to Lori A (Whitmire) Utley April 28th 1984 for fourteen years and later divorced in 1998. They had two children together April Utley Baker and Timothy James Utley. Richard loved hunting with his dad and uncles as a kid and later with his children and grandchildren. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed raising Britani and Springer Spaniels. Richard collected rocks and treasures along his outdoor adventures. Richard later moved to Idaho in 1994, with his wife and kids, they started a farm and raised cows and other animals for many years. In 1998 they later divorced. In 2005 Richard met Laura Lee Bass, his life partner. For the past ten years Richard has enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family, watching his grandchildren play baseball and soccer. RIchard is survived by his mother Karlean Utley, sister Kim Svaboda (Dan Svaboda), brother Benjamin Utley, his children April Baker ( Jared Baker ), Timothy, grandchildren Zachary and Gabriel Baker.
