Rick Young passed away unexpectedly on Christmas Day. He’s preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Margaret, and the love of his life, Joann Young. He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah and he started his career of painting at Read Obituary
Uncle Ricky! I had so much fun working with you! You were the best man ever! The funniest! I miss playing jokes on you. Everyday I’m at work I remember how much fun we had. I look at everything we painted and makes me smile that a great guy taught me well! You’ll forever be missed Uncle Rick.

It’s hard knowing your gone, I knew how much you meant to my dad and how much you meant to our family. I’ll never forget all the crazy stuff you did and the way you would light up the room. I will never forget your “here a $20 don’t tell grandma joana I had it slip.”
Thanks for taring up the dance floor at my wedding. Again you brought smile and happiness to the party.
The biggest thing I want to thank you for is showing my dad the type of dad/grandpa you should be which is always supporting and being there for your kids and family, I’ll always see your happiest and playful personality though him and his chance to now be a grandpa. He learned from the best.

Grandpa Rick was such an amazing guy, who can never be replaced. He taught me so many things. One thing i won’t forget is that he always taught me to date a guy who ruins your lipstick, not your mascara. He was there for my first America’s got talent audition!
He always knew how to make me smile. I would always look forward to going to his house to see what new things he had hidden under his sleeve. He was always fun to prank and to laugh at. Now he’ll be pranking us and laughing at us from above. You’ll be missed.
Uncle Rick was such a kindhearted man. I remember going to Trans Siberian Orchestra concerts with him and Aunt Joann. He was also the best cook. I swear every time I went to visit my dad these last few months, Uncle Rick had taught him a new way to add bacon to hamburger meat or a new way to butterfly a turkey. I’m so grateful he was able to spend so much time with my dad these last few months. They’ve been best friends since they were little and have always been important to each other. Uncle Rick, I’ll miss your kind soul. I’m glad you’re reunited with your loved ones on the other side, but we’ll miss you down here. Rest In Peace.
Hey pops thanks for being such a big part of my life.For showing me the bigger picture of life.You taught me so much, always told me to keep on learning and to push yourself.To remember the small things in life.You always accept me for who I am.For always supporting your grandkids. I will always remember the party's, karaoke, bowling, fishing, hanging out,and doing pranks together. I wouldn't have the family I have today if it wasn't for you and Mom. I no you and Mom had it rough the last few years. I could only imagine how it would be to lose the love of your life. I miss the both of you, I'm so happy knowing that you are with her now.You will truly be missed but you will always be in my heart.

Rick was a dear family friend, the Brother of my Brother in law. I've known him for over 30 years. He was a hard working man that loved his wife more than anything. He had a big heart and a great sense of humor. He was an excellent painter and took pride in his work. We've partied together many times and he was always making is laugh. I'm so happy that I got to see him a few weeks ago on Thanksgiving. To everyone that is hurting, please remember that he seriously is watching over you and will be with you through your life events. He's now with his lovely wife Joann and together they will rejoice in their reunion. Rest in peace.
Pops, what can I say, I can't believe you're really gone. If it wasn't for you and Mom, Cody and I would of never found each other. The first time you introduced us, you told us not to even think about it and stay away from each other, you knew we would do the complete opposite, you knew what you were doing. We all have so many great memories with you, many long nights of playing darts, cosmic bowling and who could forget your wonderful 4th of July barbecues. You are and always will be a big part of our life. Thank you for being such a great dad and granddad and supporting our family. You and Mom were there for Taylor on her first road trip to Boise when she tried out for Americas got talent, we had some good times. You and mom faced so many challenges in life and were two of the strongest people I knew. As hard as it is to say goodbye, I know you and Mom are together again, we'll see you on the other side.
