Robert (Bob) Allen Bischoff's Obituary
Robert Allen Bischoff (Bob) of Salt Lake City, UT was called home by the angels to return to his Heavenly Father and heavenly family. Glory be to God.
Born December 16, 1945 to Dorene Ella McDonald and Robert Carl Bischoff. Bob passed into the afterlife on October 29, 2023 peacefully at home, just the way he wanted to. Bob and Terri were together 33 years in West Jordan UT. Bob had five children: Sara, John, Jake, Allen, Susie; three stepchildren: Amber, Mishelle, Chad; and many many grandchildren that he loved so deeply. Bob and Terri’s mothers, best friend Bert 'Critter' Lamb, and others preceded him in death, so we know he had an amazing welcoming celebration when he reached Paradise for his Heavenly birthday.
Bob was proud to be a USAF Veteran. Bob honorably served 4 years enlisted in the United States Air Force as an airplane mechanic. He joined the USAF at 17 years old and graduated basic training at Lackland AFB, San Antonio TX. 44 years later, step son Chad graduated basic training at the same base: Lackland AFB, San Antonio TX. Bob's favorite AFB was Aviano, Italy. He also enjoyed South Africa, UK, and other beautiful places. Bob was also stationed at RAF Royal Air Force Base - Lakenheath in England.
Bob received a Presidential citation during the course of his Air Force service for saving a superior's life. An F-100 was leaking during taxiing and Bob ran out on the flightline and stopped the pilot from taking off. Bob caused a flightline incursion, but the plane would have likely exploded. Bob saved the pilot and the plane. Bob was very patriotic and loved and respected our country and the flag of the United States of America.
Bob worked 16 years at Kennecott Copper Corp with many brothers like Bert Lamb and Dan Shupe. Bob also worked security for movie sets, VF Factory Outlet and other interesting commissioned security jobs. Bob had a Clint Eastwood/John Wayne outlook on life. He loved oldies music and cruisin' in the car shows. He helped JC Hackett's car club raise tens of thousands of dollars for Shriner's hospital. Kruisers for Kids. Bob loved Nascar, car racing, car shows, old cars and his Veteran and car show friends.
Bob died at 77 years old and kicked heart disease’s butt for 44 years. He was a model patient and did all things to stay healthy and stay alive for his family. Bob loved to travel, camp, fish, hunt, watch old Westerns, and show and shine his ’55 Ford Customline classic car. Bob was such a punctual and responsible person. He was so humorous. Everyone heard his same jokes year after year, and when someone laughed, it only encouraged him to tell those same jokes over again. One of Bob's favorite places was Yankee Fork ID and the Snake and Salmon Rivers. He also loved Hebgen Lake MT and Critter's mountain in Sanpete county.
Our family shares eternal gratitude for the United States Air Force, Veterans Administration and medical care, and Superior Health and Hospice. In lieu of flowers or gifts, please donate and support to Disabled American Veterans, Division of Wildlife Resources, and National Rifle Association in his honor. Rest in Paradise Bob.
