I'm proud to say that Mike was my best friend. We have been buds since 1969 and I never once had a dull moment with him (I could tell you stories!). Mike was a small guy with a huge heart and a love for the Lord. It's hard to believe that he is gone. We played guitars together last August when he was in Michigan, how was I to know that was the last time we would ever see each other or do that on this earth? Mike will be greatly missed. Reader's Digest had a monthly story called "My Most Unforgettable Character" for me, that would be Mike. Until we meet again, brother, God's Speed.

I'm proud to say that Mike was my best friend and I can't say enough about him.. We have been lifelong friends since 1969. Growing up there was never a dull moment when Mike was around (the stories I could tell!). Mike had a very kind soul and he was very passionate in what he believed and outspoken. Mike was a loyal friend as the day is long and he would always have your back and never spoke ill of anybody. We spent hours playing guitars together and singing harmonies. It is hard to believe that we have sung our last song together in August at Lesa's house. Reader's Digest had an article every month called "My Most Unforgettable Character" for me that would be Mike hands down. I already miss our long telephone conversations (we once talked for two and a half hours straight while I was driving from Howell to Higgins Lake). Mike is leaving a big hole but, as a believer in our Lord Jesus Christ we have the assurance that we will meet again. I love you brother. God's Speed.

Mike as I called him was my fraternity brother at Western Michigan University. We both shared a love of music, as I played trombone all my life until my 2nd year of college. I loved music, but always wanted to play guitar. Mike did and I believe self taught. He would teach himself a specific tune from the music of the 1970s. The Who, Elton John, Pink Floyd, but mostly Ian Anderson and Jethro Tull. A small group of us brothers would select a song gather in a room and proceed to do our version of....IN CONCERT. Music blaring and our little group playing a facsimile instrument, our using the heat radiator as an organ or piano. It was Elton John's Funeral for Friend, or a Tull song etc. Very fond memories. I missed Mike, and we would often call each other up and catch up on things. We also would recite certain dialogue from old TV shows we watched in our youth. God bless Mike Gordon.
