Robert Norman Hatch's Obituary
Robert Norman Hatch
In Loving Memory
Our beloved companion, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Robert Norman Hatch, passed away on April 24, 2018, in his home, surrounded by his loving family. Following many years of poor health related to Parkinson’s disease, he passed away of natural causes.
Robert was born in Salt Lake City, to Norman and Eleanor (Park) Hatch, on September 14, 1942. He married his sweetheart, Sharon (Chatterley), in the Salt Lake Temple on September 11, 1970. In 1976 they built their home in Bountiful. Robert spent many hours using his talents and his ability for fine workmanship to improve the home, building a playhouse, a decorative wall and brick shed in the yard, finishing the basement, and other projects. He was a faithful member of the LDS Church and served in many callings throughout his life, however, he is perhaps most remembered for the many years he served as the Cub Scout Master. In 1968 he began his 35-year career as a Firefighter for Salt Lake City. He served in many capacities during his exciting career including EMT, Engineer, and Fire Inspector. He was proud to be part of the Utah Olympic Public Safety Command during the 2002 Olympics. Following retirement, he devoted his time to family history work, and spending time with his family.
Preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Eleanor Hatch, and sister Georgia (Jack) Weber. He is survived by his wife, Sharon, his four sons, Chad (Tracy), Shawn (Amanda), Lon (Evelyn), and Lane, six grandchildren, and his siblings Ronald (Sandra) and Barry (Patty).
The family would like to thank Jon, Rosemary, and Lisa of Adagio Hospice for the care they provided to Robert in his final days.
Funeral services will be held at 11am Monday, April 30th at the Bountiful 9th Ward Chapel (585 E. Center St., Bountiful). Viewings will be held at the same chapel on April 29th from 6-8pm, and from 9:30-10:30am prior to the funeral services. Interment will follow at Bountiful City Cemetery.
