Robert L Kump's Obituary
Robert Lee Kump, 65, of Erda Utah, passed away on December 15, 2013. Bob was born in Moroni, Utah to Norma Christine Jones and Robert L. Kump. Bob attended 3 years of high school, and at the age of 17 was shipped off to training for the United States Marine Corp. Bob served as Rifleman, Scout, and Sniper from 1966-1968 where he was stationed in Vietnam. During Bob’s tours of Vietnam he was severely wounded which ended his Military Career. He was awarded the following Medals: Purple Heart, National Service, Vietnam Service, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and a Rifle Expert Badge. Bob loved the outdoors and hunting. He especially loved helping Chloe and his Grandchildren to hunt, shoot, fish, and experience the outdoors. Although he loved the outdoors, his passion in life was horse racing. Bob raised over 100 quarter horse colts, of which several placed very well on the flat track. Bob is survived by his loving wife Christine D. Kump, his daughter Chloe Lee Kump, 3 sisters- Shanna Marmor; Valorie Cook; Susan Szugye, 18 Grand Children including Beau and Madey Rees, and 2 great Grand Children. As a Vietnam Veteran, Bob will be buried at the Veterans Memorial Park in Bluffdale, Utah on Friday December 20, 2013. Bob will be truly missed by all those who loved him and who saw the tenderness of his heart. Graveside services 1:00 pm, Friday, December 20, 2013 at the Utah Veterans Memorial Park, 17111 Camp Williams Road, Bluffdale, Utah.
