Robert "Bob" Lee Secretan's Obituary
Robert (Bob) Lee Secretan, age 77, of Pleasant Grove Utah, died on April 12, 2014, surrounded by four generations of the family that he loved. Bob had spent many years battling with Multiple Sclerosis and is now free of his earthly body. Bob was born in Cardston, Alberta, Canada, to Charles and Mabel Secretan, on February 3rd, 1937 and spent his childhood in Del Bonita, Alberta. After graduating high school, he attended BYU and was there introduced, through a blind date, to Kalyn Peck of Lehi, Utah, who would later become his wife. The couple made their home in Utah while Bob finished degree in Education at BYU. He later became a home town hero by returning to the small town of Del Bonita to teach at the school there. The couple later returned to Utah, where Bob continued his education by getting a Master’s Degree from BYU. He taught at Pleasant Grove Junior High, and was a counselor at Lehi High School, and American Fork High School for 19 years. Through all of his work, he was able to serve as an example in patience and love to others, and helped many students discover their potential. He retired at the age of 62 to enjoy his family, children and grandchildren. Bob and Kalyn had 7 children, 20 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. He has been an example to them in his suffering with MS over the years, and they have all loved spending time with him with his quiet love, humility and patience. Bob is survived by his wife, Kalyn, children Kyle [Katie] Secretan, Sheri [Jef] Johnson, Kent [Lavonne] Secretan, Karen [Mark] Schumann, Julie [Lance] Strouse, Cary [Jechelle] Secretan, and Jenny Secretan, his three sisters, Velma Nish, Eva Snodgrass, and Shirley Roth. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Charles and Mabel, and his three brothers, Glen Secretan, Lewis Secretan, and Bill Secretan The family would like to thank the many people who gave of their time to selflessly serve their father over the many years that he needed help. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 am, Friday, April 18th, 2014 at the Pleasant Grove LDS Church at 300 E Grove Creek Dr. (500 N.) Pleasant Grove, UT. Friends and Family may call at the church Thursday, April 17th, 2014, from 6-8:00p.m. at the same location and from 9:45-10:45a.m. prior to the services. Interment, Lehi City Cemetery.
