Robert Nephi Nessen's Obituary
Robert Nephi Nessen, AKA (Uncle Bob)
Born in Centerville, UT on 9 January 1935, and passed away peacefully at home in Salt Lake City on 4 January 2015. Our father served an LDS mission, and remained a valiant member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, serving as a Young men’s and Elder’s Quorum President, Bishop, Stake High Counselor, and many other church callings. He was a master craftsman and cobbler, sales man, mechanic, carpenter, etc. He was fascinated with aviation and spent his free time flying his airplane. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Bess E. Coombs whom he married in the Manti Temple on 15 November 1958, and siblings Wendell, Kenneth, Reed, Lola, and Russell. He is survived by his sister, Jean, his children Lars (Danelle), Linda (Martin), Bonni, Bobby (Andrea), Barbie (Mark), and Brian (Eunice); 15 grand children, 6 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. We love and will miss our “Dear Old Dad”!
The viewing will be held at the Millcreek Stake Center on 4220 South Jeannine Drive, in Salt Lake City, Thursday 8 January from 6 to 8 PM. The funeral will be held Friday, 9 January, at 11 AM with a viewing prior from 9:30 to 10:45. Interment at Elysian Gardens.
