Robert Wayne Zawrotny's Obituary
ROBERT WAYNE ZAWROTNY
1952 - 2022
Robert Wayne Zawrotny “Bob” was born on December 24, 1952 and passed away unexpectedly on December 6, 2022. Bob was the first-born child of Robert James Zawrotny from Youngstown, Ohio and Elsie Margaret (Williams) Zawrotny from Liverpool, England, who both have preceded him in death. Bob is survived by his three younger siblings: Steve Zawrotny from Yukon, OK; Normalynn Zawrotny from Tulsa, OK; and Paula (Penn) Zawrotny from Encintas, CA; and many nephews and nieces. Bob spent his childhood in California and moved to Utah in 1979 where he met Cindy Miles Sager. They were married for 11 years (1980-1991) and had a beautiful son together, Matthew James Zawrotny, who both currently reside in Payson, Utah.
Bob attended Edgewood High School in West Covina, CA from 1967 to 1971; and Mount San Antonio College in Walnut, CA from 1971 to 1974. Bob then served as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at the Idaho Pocatello Mission from 1976-1978. He was a hard-working missionary who loved his work and loved the Lord. After his mission, Bob continued his education at Brigham Young University from 1979 to 1987 majoring in Physical and Elementary Education.
Bob had a long and rewarding career in education at the Provo and Orem City Recreation from 1986-1990; Dixon Junior High 7th grade Basketball Coach and 8th grade Assistant Basketball Coach from 1987-88; and Provo School District at Joaquin, Edgemont, Maeser, Spring Creek Elementary School and Oakridge Schools from 1988-2015. Bob's career included working with ESL children and with developmentally disabled children and adults. He loved his work, and was loved by the teachers and students.
Bob’s beautiful smile, laughter, and friendship will sorely be missed by those who knew him best. With his unquestionable faith and love for our Father in Heaven and Jesus, we know we will see him again someday.
There will be a funeral service for Bob at 11:30 am, Saturday, December 17, 2022, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 888 S. Freedom Blvd., Provo, Utah.
