Rod was kind and friendly to me and everyone he met. He had so many nieces and nephews and yet I recall him at least saying hi to me at every large family gathering or when we would run into each other at the store. He was warm and endearing. He considered you a friend or even family instantly. He was genuine and down-to-earth. He would help you anyway he could. Growing up it was always Rod and Pat. They were inseparable as far as I was concerned! I am glad they are together again. I’m sure his mom, my grandma, has been missing him too. If ever you felt alone or lost in the large family gathering, different than everyone else, you could count on finding Rod and know he loved you and was genuinely happy to talk with you. I never expressed how much he and his kindness meant to me as we didn’t see each other that often (we have a big family!), but I hope he knows now. I love and appreciate him. I honor him and his goodness and offer my sincerest condolences to my mom, his sister, and all those who had the privilege to know this kind and gentle man.
