Rodolfo F Romero's Obituary
Rodolfo “Rudy” F. Romero 73 passed away peacefully December 6, 2019 at Lotus Park Care Center. He was born April 17th, 1946 in Los Pinos, Colorado to Ubaldo and Celina (Gallegos) Romero.
Dad stood courageously on the front line of the Vietnam War while serving in the U.S Army, he returned home to Colorado in May of 1969 and married Christine G. Duran, they had their first-born Rudy J. Romero Jr. (Anthony) and then moved to Ogden, Utah where they had three more children; Carmelita K. (Juan) Silva, AnnaRae T. (Alfonso) Gonzales and Augustine U. (Aubrey) Romero.
In Utah dad attended technical college where he earned his welding certification, he worked in the welding fabrication industry until he retired. After retirement dad enjoyed spending his days working alongside his son Augustine in his Masonry business. Our dad was a hard worker who always gave it his all with no complaints, when the work day was done dad never forgot his children bringing them a treat home in his lunchbox every day.
Dad enjoyed camping, 4 wheeling, rides in the mountains, watching boxing, water balloon fights with his kids and a good BBQ with family and friends but dad’s ultimate passion was restoring old vehicles. Most recently dad’s favorite treats were a fish sandwich and a strawberry shake. Dad loved his grandchildren; Melissa, Cheyenna, Aundrea, Alexus, Alyssa, Augustine Jr., & Alexander and his great grandchildren; Hayden, Skylah & Hendrix.
Preceded in death by his parents, a brother Alfonso, his wife and a son Rudy Jr. He is survived by 6 brothers, 4 sisters, 3 children, 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
The family would like to extend their appreciation and gratitude to Debbie dads Hospice Aide for her loving care of dad that always brought a smile to his face. We are also very grateful for all the staff at Lotus Park.
Funeral Mass will be at 9:50 a.m. on Thursday, December 12, 2019 at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church located at 4050 South 3900 West, West Haven, UT. Viewing and Rosary will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at Premier Funeral Services, 5335 South 1950 West, Roy, UT 84067. Interment will take place following the services at the Leavitt’s Aultorest Memorial Park, in Ogden.
