Roland Earl Turpin's Obituary
Roland “Earl” Turpin, of Stansbury Park, Utah, passed away on April 15, 2026, after a brave battle with MDS leukemia.
Earl was born on May 6, 1945, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Roland and Doris Turpin. He graduated from Granite High School in 1963. In 1965, he married and later divorced. He was the proud father of three daughters. Earl dedicated 45 years of service to Salt Lake County Public Works.
In his younger years, Earl was very active and athletic. He played baseball and rugby, enjoyed skiing, and was committed to weight training. Summers were often spent on the lake with his daughters, making treasured memories on his boat. He loved water skiing and proudly taught all three of his girls to ski at a young age.
Earl also enjoyed hunting, especially with his brother Bob and Bob’s sons. One of his proudest moments was taking his grandson Josh elk hunting up Daniel’s Canyon, where Josh shot his first elk.
Family was the center of Earl’s life. There was nothing he wouldn’t do for those he loved, and he was truly the best.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents, Roland and Doris Turpin; his daughter, Brenda Turpin; his brother, Bob Turpin; and his nephew, Robert Turpin.
He is survived by his daughters, Tami Turpin (Randy) and Cindi Duggan (Marc); his grandchildren, Josh, Brooklyn (Austin), Jessie (Beau), Kenzie, Zack, Hunter, and Kylee; and his great-grandchildren, Brookelle, Blakely, and Gracie.
A celebration of Earl’s life will be held at a later time.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Tantravahi and his team at Huntsman Cancer Hospital for the care, compassion, and support they showed Earl during such a difficult time.
Earl was funny, kind, and generous. A man loved by everyone who knew him. He will be deeply missed.
