Roland Solon Williams' Obituary
Roland Solon Williams, 65, of West Jordan, Utah, passed away the morning of July 9th, 2026 at the IHC Hospital in Murray.
Born June 9th, 1961 in SLC to Lois and Rollin Jones. Roland graduated from Bingham High School and attended SLCC for a time. His love of comics led him to be hired on at Comics Utah, where he spent many years in a hobby he adored. Comics Utah is where he met the love of his life, Amanda. After 10 years, they were married on June 24th 1990.
Roland was a big teddy bear and very much cared for others. He was a great listener. He loved playing board and miniature games with friends and family. He also adored all his cats that he had and was a big cat fan. He had always wished to pet a lion.
When he joined City Church he found his servants heart and love of Jesus along with his wife Amanda, served from 2011 till just before his passing at Awaken Church.
Roland is survived by his wife of 36 years, Amanda Williams, his brother Edward Williams (Lisa), his sister Marie Myers. Nieces, Lindsay (Brooks), Jaime (Tracer), Dana (Steven), Brooklyn and nephew Jesse and many great nephews and nieces.
He is preceded in death by his parents Lois Williams and Rollin S Jones.
A celebration of life will be held on August 1st, 2026 from 1-3pm at Awaken Church at 322 W 11000 S South Jordan. It will be an informal affair where friends and family gather to share memories, love and laughter of Roland. Roland's warmth, generosity, sense of humor and unwavering support for others will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
