Ronald Vaughn Featherstone's Obituary
"Ron", "Ronnie", "Dad", and most of all "Papa", left this world for a better one on Monday, May 2nd, at the age of 59, due to complications of multiple sclerosis. Ron led an active life. He enjoyed running, biking, boating, skiing, and golfing. He served a full-time mission for the LDS church, in the gulf states mission. He loved to volunteer his time as a scout leader, and help in other youth programs. Ron was married to Debra K. Keeler for 35 years. Together they raised three amazing children, Chris, Nicole, and Jeff. Ron is survived by his loving parents, Vaughn and Merlene Featherstone, his children; Chris (Tawny) Featherstone, Nicole (Seth) Quealy, and Jeff (Sara) Featherstone, Grandchildren, J.D., Andi, Grant, Jensen, Hawkins, and Pepper Featherstone, Ella, Lily, Roxy, Harry, and Brody Quealy, Vaughn, Maggie, (Nash, already in heaven to greet his Papa), and Adele Featherstone, his siblings; David (Laura), Scott (Lori), Joe (Marianne), Lawrence (Laurel), Paul (Meredith) Featherstone and Jill (Brian) Taylor. Ron was also blessed by numerous nieces and nephews, great- nieces and nephews, Aunt, Uncles, cousins, and friends. "For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. Do thy diligence to come shortly unto me" 2 Timothy 4:6-9 We love and will miss you, Son, Ronnie, Dad, Papa Ron is preceded in death by his grandmother; Emma Johnson Featherstone, and his grandson; Nash Cole Featherstone.
Funeral Services will be at 1:00 PM on Friday, May 6, 2011 at the Founders Park 4th Ward, 11685 Kestrel Rise Rd., South Jordan, UT. Viewing will be from 12 noon to 12:45 PM on Friday at the church. Burial will follow the services at the Sandy City Cemetery.
