Ronald Dean Nuzman's Obituary
Ronald Dean Nuzman passed away Sunday Dec.18 2016 in Orem, UT from complications following surgery.
Ron was born in Salt Lake City UT June 23, 1934 to Frances Lynn and Maude LaVeryl Smith Nuzman. He grew up loving that city and worked as a young man selling papers on the streets and setting pins in the bowling alleys.
At age 18 he joined the Air Force and traveled all over the world serving his country and working as an electric fuel controller. He retired in 1973 and returned to UT where he went to work for the United States Postal Service as an electronic technician. He retired from there in 1999.
He was married 30 years to his first wife Thelma Jane Fairbourn and raised four children. After her death he married Mary Dawn Hawke Harward and took on five more children to call his own. j They were married thirty two years.
He loved golf and was a long time member of the "Over the Hill Gang" and could be found on any given day on the golf course.
A committed member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, he served as Branch President while in the Military and as Bishop of the Provo 10th ward. At the time of his death, he was the librarian of the Orem Park 10th ward.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, his older brother Richard, three sisters, Donna, Frankie, and Mary Jo, a stepdaughter Lisa and a grandson Cory.
Surviving him are his wife, Mary Dawn; children, Mark, Sharlee, Greg, and Cindy; his stepchildren, Garth, Brad, Kent and Greg; sister, Kay Phillips; and brother, Jim Nuzman and 24 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, Dec. 22, 2016 at 12:00 p.m. in the Orem Park 10th ward chapel 50 South 750 West Orem, UT. A viewing will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. prior to services.
