I served with Ron in the Navy aboard the USS Hoel in San Diego. We worked in the same shop and spent quite a bit of time together on and off the ship. We made an 8 month deployment to the western Pacific together and had some great times on liberty. Lots of good memories. I am saddened to hear that he is gone. He will be missed. My condolences to his family.

I didn't know him personally but I do know his grandson Gage Kirk looked up to him in so many ways. He's left his footprintd in gage for sure. Rest easy.
