Rosemary Helen Williams' Obituary
Rosemary Helen Williams passed away surrounded by family on January 25, 2026, in Lindon, Utah. She was 85 years old.
Rosemary was born on February 20,1940, to Clark Gale and Helen Heath in Preston, Idaho. She attended school in Idaho Falls and graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1958. While living there, Rosemary fell in love with the boy next door, Bill (Billy) Williams. They were married August 7,1959, in the Idaho Falls Temple. Rosemary and Bill are parents of two children, Laurie Ann and William Jonathan.
Rosemary was a talented musician. She majored in music at Ricks College and taught piano and voice lessons for 30 years. Teaching so many young people how to play and sing, Rosemary’s talent and legacy will go on forever. She sang, led music, and was a very accomplished pianist.
She seemed to be “practically perfect in every way”, with talents for calligraphy, interior design, and carpentry. She excelled at everything she put her mind to. She had the ability to make any place look and feel like home. Rosemary cherished being a wife, mother, and grandmother. She was “Grammy” to all her grandchildren.
Rosemary was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She served in many callings in the church, as well as serving side by side with Bill in the Church Education System. They had opportunities to serve and live in Utah, New York, and California.
In 1999, after Bill’s retirement, she and Bill moved from Livermore, CA to Provo, Utah to be near BYU. They loved being close to their grandchildren who came to Provo for school and work. While there they served at the Missionary Training Center for eight years.
In 2017, Rosemary and Bill moved to Spring Gardens Senior Living in Lindon, Utah.
Their examples and love for thousands of young adults through their years of service is remarkable. Her strong testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ truly changed so many lives. She loved the Lord and it was evident in her words and her actions. She had a gift to genuinely love everyone she met.
On the day of her passing, we discovered the following note she had written in 1992:
“To my family—If I do leave this earth before Christ returns, please don’t mourn my death. If we all live the plan, we’ll be together again soon. Instead, please celebrate my life and the great joy you all were to me, and the great love we shared. Oh how I’ll miss you!”
Rosemary was preceded in death by her husband Bill, son Jonathan, sister Kathy Stanger (Bruce), brother Kevin Heath (Vicki), and parents George and Helen Heath. She is survived by her daughter Laurie Phelps (Gary), sister Peggy Rogers (Gordon), her grandchildren Kristen Erickson (Aaron), Lisa Evans (Jake), Michelle Moody (Josh), Jordan Phelps, and Joshua Williams, and by 11 great-grandchildren.
A graveside memorial service will be held in Idaho Falls in early July.
