Ross Allen's Obituary
Ross Michael Allen passed from this life on the 1st of December, 2014. He passed peacefully at home after struggling for years with cirrohsis of the liver. He was born in Ames Iowa and moved to Baton Rouge when he was 16. Ross went to high school at Lee High and played football there. Baton Rouge became his home and he became an avid fan of LSU and the Saints. He literally bled purple and gold. He lived in Utah, Florida and Louisiana but Baton Rouge was HOME. He was always very active in sports activities and especially officiating high school football, basketball and softball. Sports were the second love of his life, the first being his family. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many positions and callings throughout his life. He served and LDS mission to England in the early 70’s and attended BYU after the completion of his mission.
He married Cara Smith and had two sons Joseph and Brandon. Brandon preceded him in death, but was certain one of the first to welcome him home. Cara and Ross later divorced and he then married Karen Davis. They later divorced and he married Diane Potter whom he lived out the rest of his life with and enjoyed much happiness and joy. He was also preceded in death by a brother (Don- married to Nancy) of San Antonio Texas and both parents (Scott and Louise). He has an older brother (Gary- married to Muriel) of Salem Utah.
He leaves behind many great friends, many who are football officials, nieces and nephews, 21 grandchildren, and a wife, all of whom love him and miss him dearly.
Services will be held on Tuesday December 9th at noon with a viewing starting at 10 a.m. located at 878 West Center Street, Springville. He will then rest in American Fork Utah.
Funeral services will be 12 Noon, Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at the LDS Chapel located at 878 West Center Street, Springville, Utah with a viewing prior to services from 10:00 to 11:45 am. Interment and graveside services will be at 3:00 pm, Tuesday at the American Fork City Cemetery.
