Ruland Lulagi (Lu) Skipps
Devoted Patriarch
West Jordan, UT – Lu was called back to Heaven and able to spend Christmas with his sweetheart Selenia whom he married on June 10, 1989.
The Skipps family patriarch passed away peacefully in his home December 25th surrounded by family.
He was the son of Totele Toiaivao Skipps and Laila Ahmu born February 27, 1936 in Mapusaga, Samoa.
Lu was a man of faith and a dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved music and lived his life singing and in the service of others.
Dedicated husband, father, brother and friend is survived by his; children, Marsha Curtis, Doug (Maura) Skipps, Elizabeth (Michael) Burt, Stephanie (Rick) Smith, John (Lacey) Faimalo, Ruland Jr. (Lauren) Skipps; 15 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Memorial services being held at the West Jordan 43rd Ward, 6695 S. 2200 W., West Jordan UT with a Public viewing Friday from 5 to 6 pm with family services immediately following. A second public viewing will be held on Saturday from 9:30 am to 10:30 am with funeral services starting at 11 am.
Graveside services at 12:30 pm at Redwood Memorial Cemetery, 6500 S. Redwood Rd., West Jordan, UT.
