Ruth Marie Hamblen's Obituary
Ruth Marie Austin Hamblen, born April 6, 1925, Fairbury, Nebraska, to Clarence W. Austin Sr. and Faun Elizabeth Smith Austin died September 12, 2010 at her home in Taylorsville, Utah, of natural causes. She married Leon Abner Hamblen, of Tremont, Maine, September 14, 1943, in Rapid City, South Dakota. Mom loved crocheting, crossword puzzles, fishing at UM Creek and Fishlake, camping, and most of all her grandchildren. She was very proud of her children’s accomplishments and loved to share them with everyone. Ruth is survived by her children, Diana, Gary (Marilyn), 7 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, sister, Joann, Cortez, Colorado, and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by husband, parents, and brother, Clarence W Austin, Jr. The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff of Community Nursing Services for their tender care and support during Ruth’s final days with us. You are truly angels on earth. Graveside Services held Sunday, September 26, 2010, 3:00 pm at Utah Veterans Cemetery, Bluffdale, Utah. A family gathering will be held immediately following the service.
