It took me awhile before I discovered this page was here...sorry for the late response.
Ryan has a lot of brothers...I do not. When we were kids he was probably the closest thing to a brother that I will ever have. We spent so much time at each other's homes that we each called the others Mother "Mom". During high school I don't think there was a single day that we weren't together. Riding around our little country town in our old beat-up cars and out across the rolling fields, on warm days, with the windows down and the old 8 track tape player turned-up. Fishing together, taking our girl friends out on double dates and sparing with boxing gloves in the backyard...Ryan had a wicked "left-hook" that used to rattle my teeth! We worked together at Jimmy Gilberts building furniture, we sang together in the school choir, we attended church together, we worked on each others cars. But, the one thing we did the most...was laugh. I've never in my entire life to this day met someone who ever made me laugh so much...we just played off each other so naturally that we both kept the other in stitches.
I've never been good at staying in-touch with people...I don't have my own Facebook page...but Ryan and I did meet a few times through all these past years and we always took up the moment we met...just as if no time had past. That's what best friends can do. I've lived long enough now to know that you really don't get the opportunity in life to meet many people that are TRUE friends. Ryan Black was always that to me. So, if I can ever say that I had a brother in this life...it was him. Thanks for some of the happiest memories of my life...see you soon brother.
