Sam Daniel Maestas' Obituary
Sam Daniel Maestas died on December 8 in the comfort of his home
surrounded by family and loved ones.
Born on August 17 , 1952, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Jenny Rodrigues
Maestas and Sam Maestas SR. Sam was an employee of Salt Lake City
Corp for many years and retired from Fuji Photo. He met the love of his
life, Gloria Maestas, and they remained married for 38 years. They had 5
children together (Daniel, Tammy, Lory, Jeremy and Jeffery) before Gloria
passed before him in 2009.
Sam was known for his kindness, generosity and love for his family. He
loved cooking, listening to Hank Williams, going to yard sales and
shopping at thrift stores. He loved to joke and make others laugh. He had
a passion for music, cars and motorcycles. His joy for life and dedication to
helping those around him will leave a lasting impact on all that knew him.
He is survived by their 4 children: Daniel Maestas, Tammy (and Isaac)
Fernandez, Lory (and Vincent) Fierros, Jeremy (and Lourdes) Maestas, his
brothers Mike and Manuel Maestas, his sister Betty Maestas, his nieces
and nephews, many grandchildren and great grandchildren who will all
miss dearly. He was preceded in death by his wife Gloria, his son Jeffery,
his 4 sisters (Alice, Lola, Susie and Rita), his brother (Toby) and many
other beloved family members.
A viewing will be held Saturday, December 13 from 10 AM – 12 PM at
Premier Funeral Home 8000 South 67 East Midvale, Utah. Followed by a
burial service at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery 275 “U” Street Salt Lake
City, Utah.
After burial services, the family will be holding a
potluck/lunch in Celebration of Life for Sam at Hope Unlimited Church
located at 4115 W Sam’s Blvd Kearns, Utah.
Sam’s family (immediate and extended) would like to express their sincere
gratitude and appreciation to all those who have supported them
throughout this time of loss. Thank you for your continued love, prayers,
and support.
