Sammy Lopez Garza, 59 passed away peacefully surrounded by family in Og-den, Utah on July 30, 2019.
Sammy was the youngest child of 13 born to Manuel and Eulalia Garza. Sam-my was born in Lubbock, Texas on June 6, 1960.
He is survived by his children, Rita Slot (Kasey Slot), Richard Garza (Ashley Garza), Becky Garza, Sammy Jr. Garza (Amy Garza), Shania Garza, Blaze Garza and stepdaughter, Torey Peters, and his dog, Guero whom he loved dearly.
Sammy is also survived by his 13 grandchildren, and was cared for by his “fa-vorite niece” Gringa (Eulalia) Garza.
Sammy was loved by his family, friends, community and all those who met him. He was generous and giving to all he came across. He would give the shirt off his back. He had a heart of gold. Sammy loved all God’s creatures, he has had almost every animal in his home during his life time. Sammy loved being outdoors and active when his health allowed. He loved camping, fishing, and walking along the canals to pick asparagus.
Sammy had the most contagious laugh and was the biggest jokester ever. He was laughing up to the very end with all his shit talking. He loved his family so much that he would do anything for them.
We would like to thank Comfort Worx caregivers for all their help.
