Samuel Anthony Henry Winch passed from this life on November 2, 2016 surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born February 5, 1964 to Linda C. Bailey and Phillip A Lewis in San Francisco, CA. He was raised by his maternal grandmother Evelyn Myers until the age of 11, when he returned to live with his mother and stepfather James Krejci . Sam was able to live with the Jarman family in North Carolina while attending Jacksonville high school. He attended schools in California, North Carolina, and graduated from Cyprus High school in Utah. He joined the United States Air Force right out of high school and completed four years of service.
Upon leaving the air force Sam married Danette Trujillo and they had two beautiful daughters. They later divorced. A few years later Sam married Janette Holdaway Haycock and gained another daughter and two sons . They made their home in Vineyard, Utah while Sam attended Salt Lake Community College getting his degree in computer science. He worked many years for Convergys in Orem, Utah. They then moved to their home in Provo,Utah. Sam loved to work with his hands. He spent many hours putting special touches around their home from installing crown molding to complete remodeling. In 2013 Sam and Janette moved to Globe, Arizona where Sam was the network administrator for Freeport McMoRan. Sam and his wife (Janette) returned home to Provo, Utah where he started cancer treatments. Sam loved his family and his grandchildren deeply. He was there biggest supporter.
Sam is survived by his parents, loving wife Janette, his children Athena (Jeremy) Haynes, Chantell (Mike) Winch, Zach (Brittani) Vershay, Schyler Thomas, Jennifer (Rick) Olivas, Jeremy Haycock, Jason (Stacy) Haycock, 18 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and many siblings, aunts, uncles and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2016 from 1pm to 3pm at the LDS church ( 2876 West 1390 North Provo, Utah 84601)
