Sandra Ellen Wamsley's Obituary
Sandra Ellen Hansen Wamsley, 79, of Springville, UT, Born in Provo, UT on February 16, 1946 passed away on January 3rd, 2026 peacefully in her home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Ray Wamsley, Her mother, Inez Merrel Carter Hansen, her father, Dr. Ronald Gordon Hansen, her sister Julie Anne Hansen Kruitmoes, her brother Ronald Hansen, and her sister Karen Hansen Bancroft.
Sandra is survived by her children, Kenneth Lawrence Wamsley (Danijela), Amanda Lee Wamsley, Melissa Lynn Wamsley and Tristan Ray Wamsley. She's also survived by her sisters, Melinda Scott, Melanie Evans (Chris), Hettie Ann Scott (Jim), and Pamela Mansfield (John). Also has 14 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
Sandra attended Southern Illinois University where she studied to get her teaching degree, dancing, and performed in many plays during her college years. She met the love of her life while in college, he proposed to her in one of the plays they were both in. After Ken finished his LDS mission they got married in the Manti, UT temple on November 1st, 1969. While in Utah, Sandra attended BYU and finished her teaching degree. She later went on to teach special needs children until she started a family of her own. Sandra's greatest and most treasured calling was to be a mother.
Sandra went on to serve as the Relief Society president and Stake Primary president in South Jordan, UT which she loved and served with a smile on her face and has kept many of the friendships she made all those years ago.
Sandra's smile and laugh were infectious. The love she had for her family is beyond measure. Family was the most important part of her life and loved getting together to spend time with them. Sandra was the oldest of eight children. She was a sister to 6 girls and 1 boy. She enjoyed anything crafty to include being a seamstress. Sandra's greatest treasure in life was her family. She never gave up on those she love and loved them unconditionally.
Sandra enjoyed spending as much time as she could with her children, grandchildren, siblings, nieces, and nephews, and of course as much time as she could devote to her loving husband Kenneth before he passed away in 2022. (53 years of marriage).
Sandra's laugh, smile, voice, hugs, comfort, and friendship will be truly missed.
Funeral services will be held on January 10, 2026 at the Spring Canyon Ward, 678 So. 950 W. Springville, UT with a viewing for family and friends prior to services from 9:45 to 10:45 A.M. Interment will be at the East Lawn Memorial Park, Provo.
