Sarah Charlene Slinker Newman's Obituary
Sarah Charlene Slinker Newman, age 70, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday March 27, 2019. She was born on April 10, 1948 to E. Glen Slinker and Sarah Beatrice Irwin Slinker in Metcalf County, Kentucky. She married Charles Randy Newman on August 5, 1970 in the Salt Lake City Temple. She is survived by her husband Charles, her daughter Sarah Shenole Newman Hostetter (her husband Brian Hostetter), her son Scott Charles (his wife Kristen Newman) and twin grandsons Charlie and Daniel Newman; brothers Durwood Slinker (Emma), Stanley Slinker (Betty), and Clay Slinker (Jennie Carol). She was proceeded in death by her father E. Glen Slinker, her mother Sarah Beatrice Irwin Slinker, and her sister Ruth Elliott.
She fought valiantly against cancer. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She worked with the young women’s sports. She was a very talented artist, painting landscapes and drawing sketches of family members, which are displayed throughout her house. She loved to make jewelry.
Charlene was loved and will be greatly missed.

There will be a viewing held on Sunday March 31, 2019 at Taylorsville 23rd Ward house (4932 South 3200 West Taylorsville, UT 84129) from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
The funeral will be held on Monday April 1, 2019 at the Taylorsville 23rd Ward house (address above) from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. There will be a viewing proceeding the funeral from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
The graveside service will be held at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery, located at 1342 East 500 South, Salt Lake City, UT 84102.
