Sean Patrick Beall's Obituary
It is with great sadness but, with relief that he is no longer suffering, that we announce the death of Sean Patrick Beall on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 in Provo, Utah.
Sean was born on April 19, 1965 in Cushings, Oklahoma to his loving parents, Jerry Mac Beall and Ida Lynn Watson Beall. He had one sibling, Randy. His parents and his brother have all pre-deceased him.
Sean is survived by friends and family members including Katya Paz Soldan Beall, beloved friend and previous wife, his son, Adrian Nathaniel Beall, daughter Penelope Ann Beall, and son Benjamin Ethan Beall. He also had many friends who loved him as though he was "family." Sean loved freely and was honored and loved greatly by many as well.
Sean spent most of his childhood in Northern Utah in Utah County where his mother moved with her young family after the untimely death of his father in the line-of-duty as a Police Officer. They lived mostly in the Provo and Payson areas. He graduated from Payson High School.
Sean's mother married Fred Niel so they joined a large family with 4 siblings, aunts and uncles, and cousins who welcomed them and created loving memories. He learned to hunt, fish, play the guitar, and sing country music songs.
He served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Bolivia Cochabamba Mission under President F. Melvin Hammond. Sean cherished the time he spent there and the people he met in Bolivia.
Sean attended Brigham Young University and ultimately graduated with his Bachelor's Degree in English Literature from Oklahoma University.
He was an avid reader and wordsmith which not only led to his area of study and expertise but, to his work where he became a Technical Writer for several IT companies holding various positions. He was esteemed for his attention to detail and his vast knowledge of the English language and of literature.
Sean's greatest blessing and accomplishment in life to him was that of being a father to his three children. Oh, how he loved them! He was a family man through and through. He cherished his time with each of his children; camping with Adrian, watching Hannah Montana videos with Penelope, and listening to Animal Collective songs with Ben. He encouraged them in their interests and supported them with his wisdom and always worried and cared about each of them and their current and future lives. His priority was to keep his kids happy and focused on the things that matter most in life and on each of their own personal priorities.
He loved his books and reading. Among his favorite types of books were those of fantasy such as: Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, and Harry Potter.
He enjoyed British comedy and was always up for a good mystery novel. He was always eager to tell a story or relate an excerpt from a book he had read and could usually quote them verbatim.
Sean also had music in his soul and often sent out e-mails or YouTube videos of old traditional country musicians. He used the lyrics of these time-tested melodies to express his feelings to his loved ones, friends, and to others who he thought needed to feel the emotion contained within the harmonies.
He loved the Holidays. Tradition was important to him. Haunted houses at Halloween were his favorite. Thanksgiving and moreover, the leftovers from Thanksgiving Dinner were true delicasies to his palate! He also loved Christmas and the "magic" of the Season. He was one to give to those less fortunate without their knowing and was deeply admired for his generous spirit.
Sean was proud of his home improvement projects and loved to garden and make his home and his surroundings serene and beautiful. Sean saw beauty and peacefulness in nature and cherished rides in the Utah canyons and mountain vistas.
Sean Beall was a Native American with a proud heritage belonging to the Sac and Fox Native American Tribe and embraced his People and their history. He tried to be current with the affairs of his heritage and their culture, traditions and beliefs, as well as their challenges and triumphs. He held dear to his heart the ties and traditions of the people. He attended Pow Wows as often as he could and was an esteemed elder of his tribe in Oklahoma.
He was a man of great integrity and endured many of a very difficult life's challenges with bravery and courage and a steadfastness that few will ever experience. Although this earthly time was arduous and a climb up many a steep mountain for our beloved Sean; we admire, respect, and love him forever. He taught us all so much about what is truly important in life and about accepting and loving ourselves just as we are. Our prayer and hope is that Sean now sees with "heavenly eyes" the true gem he was to so many of us left behind and that he also realizes the beauty and value of his own soul and can see how much he was and will always be loved. Rest in peace, "Old Friend."
A memorial will be held on Saturday, October 14th, 2023, 11:00 am, at the American Fork West Stake Center, 588 West 500 North, American Fork, Utah 84003.
